Kreativ Dental Clinic - Implant Treatment Abroad

A veneer is a layer of porcelain bonded on to the front surface of a tooth. The procedure requires little or no anaesthesia, and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of front teeth. With veneers in place, patients can expect an improved smile with straighter, whiter, and more even looking teeth.

Kreativ Emax Veneers

Emax Veneers

There are many different types of veneers in use each with slightly different properties. They can generally be categorized as conventional 'feldspathic' veneers or, the more advanced pressed ceramic porcelain veneers such as the Emax.

After the Dentist takes initial impressions, the veneers are shaped and contoured in wax to produce the chosen design and shape. The wax veneers are then cast and molten porcelain is forced into the mould under pressure to produce the final veneer.

This method of fabrication gives Emax Veneers very high strength and durability making it possible to produce them as ultra-thin layers requiring very little or no preparation of the supporting teeth (ie, grinding off the front enamel surface of the teeth).

This is one of the biggest advantages of Emax Veneers as there is much less damage to the supporting teeth and cementation with natural surface enamel is considerably stronger than with exposed inner dentine if the enamel tooth surface is ground off.

Emax Veneers superior strength also makes it possible to produce them as ultra-thin layers but with much higher edge-strength than 'feldspathic' veneers and little possibility of chipping.

Emax Veneer Treatment

Veneers are used to improve the aesthetics, usually of the top six to ten teeth in the visible 'smile zone'. They can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth.

Colour: A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or, to lighten front teeth generally, usually the upper ones.

Shape: Veneers can be used where teeth are small and bulk needs to be added to make them more expressive and visible. A veneer can also make a chipped tooth look intact again. The porcelain covers the whole front of the tooth with a thicker section replacing the chip.

Position: If a tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be used to help align it with the others. Space closure/diastemas - Emax Veneers are an ideal choice to close small single or multiple spaces.

NOTE; Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, however, they are a purely cosmetic treatment; importantly, they do not correct health problems of your teeth.

Often seen as a 'quick fix' to straighten teeth, veneers should not be considered an alternative solution when orthotic braces are required

Before any veneer procedure, your teeth must first be assessed as to their suitability for treatment by one of our dental specialists in Cosmetic Dentistry. During the personal consultation, the Dentist will discuss the requirements for your individual situation.

Impression and Colour: Our Dentist will then take an impression (mould) of your teeth and match the colour of surrounding teeth on a shade guide. Your Emax Veneers will be constructed from this and any other information necessary by the technicians in our in-house laboratory. Once produced, Emax Veneers are then stained and glazed to produce the final natural looking results.

Bonding: Before bonding the veneer in place, our dentist will show you the veneer on your tooth to make sure you are happy with it. Once satisfied, the veneer is bonded to the supporting tooth's surface using a special adhesive. Our Dentist will spend time evaluating your bite and making sure that the veneer is adjusted appropriately. The veneer's precise contours will also be evaluated, trimming or reshaping can take place until dentist and patient are happy.

After Care

The superior strength of Emax Veneers means they can be expected to last for many years, possibly even life. Should small chips occur these can be repaired or, if necessary, a new veneer fitted.

A yearly check-up visit to the dentist and a good daily hygiene routine of flossing and brushing your teeth twice daily, or after each meal is necessary to maintain the health of the supporting teeth.

Whitening toothpaste and a soft bristle toothbrush to remove surface stain will help to keep your veneers polished and white.
