Dental Crowns

5 Year Guarantee on all Kreativ Dental's Crown and Bridge work

Crowns are a fixed restoration fitted to the remaining part of a prepared tooth or, placed on a Dental Implant They are an ideal way to rebuild a damaged tooth.

Crowns can also be used to reshape and help realign uneven and slightly crooked teeth and can dramatically improve the appearance of a tooth that has been badly discoloured by fillings adding to a healthy and vibrant smile.

Root Canaled Tooth + Crown - Drilling into a tooth weakens the tooth’s structural integrity. Following a root canal treatment, placement of a Crown will often be advised for strength and because Crowns are also best for sealing the root canaled tooth to protect against any further infection.

Root Canal treated teeth may also require the added support of a “post” to give strength and improve the bonding of the Crown to the root. Made of stainless steel, posts are fitted directly into the root canal and can be either pre-fabricated or custom made by our Dental Technicians to accurately fit the shape of the prepared root canal. Once the post is in place, the Crown is attached on top.

Full Porcelain Crowns

Full Porcelain (metal free) Crowns Abroad

Full Porcelain Crowns are particularly recommended for front teeth replacement and Cosmetic Dentistry as they are metal free and have the same translucence as normal teeth giving a completely natural look to the replacement tooth/teeth.

Full Porcelain Crowns also ensure there will be no problem with the appearance of a fine dark line of metal at the base of the crown that can sometimes happen if gum recession occurs and the patient has Porcelain on Metal Crowns.

With the strength of modern materials now used in their construction, they can also be placed anywhere in the mouth.

Zirconium Full Porcelain Crowns

A plaster model is made from the impression taken of the prepared tooth. The model is scanned and a frame is designed using a computer. The milling machine cuts the frame out from a zirconium disc. Porcelain layers are built up on the frame and detail colouring is added.

IPS e.Max Full Porcelain Crowns

A plaster model is made from the impression taken of the prepared tooth. A wax frame is made on the model, and then used to produce a mould. The e.max lithium disilicate ceramic is pressed into the mould. Porcelain layers and detail colouring can be added to achieve the most natural appearance.

These two (zirconium & eMax), very high quality materials are used by our laboratory technicians to create stunning natural smiles. IPS e.Max crowns are made of lithium disilicate which is a glass ceramic. Zirconium crowns are made using zirconia, also a ceramic. e.Max has the advantage of being more translucent than zirconium. Its translucency and light diffusion properties replicate the natural tooth structure achieving beautiful natural finishes. e.Max also has a higher edge strength which means that chipping is extremely rare.

Porcelain on Metal Crowns

Porcelain Crowns Abroad

Porcelain fused to metal Crowns remain one of dentistry’s primary restorations - they are strong and reliable. Often used in the molar regions as they can withstand considerable biting force; these are still the most popular crowns.

Depending upon the number of Crowns that may be needed, 5 working days are usually required.

Using the impression taken by the dentist, a metal thimble base is cast in noble alloy then veneered with layers of porcelain and fired in a kiln fusing the porcelain to the metal thimble.

Porcelain on Gold Crowns

Porcelain fused to gold Crowns are the strongest and longest lasting Crowns because of the inherent strength advantage of a gold base. These Crowns are particularly used for back teeth restoration.

The construction technique is similar to the Porcelain fused to metal Crowns.

After Care

How long your Crowns will last depends upon a number of factors - the quality of the materials used and the care taken during construction – how well they have been adjusted – how you treat them.

Good quality Crowns that are well looked after should last 20 – 30 years.

The good health of the supporting root / Implant and gums is essential in maintaining your Crowns. This necessitates a good oral hygiene routine at home of brushing twice daily and flossing between teeth once a day to help prevent plaque and bacteria accumulating.

The dentists at KREATIV also recommend the daily use of an anti-bacterial mouthwash.

If you require precision cosmetic dentistry or dental implant treatment at reasonable Hungarian prices, a professional solution is available at the Kreativ Dental.
